Hybrid Jobs Are The Future! Huh?

I have learned a new application for the term “hybrid” from Dan Roth, Editor in Chief of LinkedIn. Here’s what he said recently on CBS Morning News: “Just knowing technical skills are not enough . . . you have to know how to be persuasive, how to be adaptable, how to have oral communication skills, how to write. To be all the things that make us human and learn from each other.” This is not only music to my ears, but it also gives a name to what I’ve been helping clients become, Hybrid Leaders. While it doesn’t sound sexy, it brings together the Ying and Yang of being a productive, successful and fulfilled human being – your skills plus your humanity. My clients have technical and other skills - some of which I can barely comprehend. What they are in need of is the ability to understand, manage and utilize the thing that makes us humans and not robots – our emotions.
